Half of Turkey’s export from Istanbul

Istanbul made 51.3 percent of Turkey’s export in the first half of 2006, according to figures of Turkish Exporters’ Assembly.

89.6 percent of Turkey’s export in the same period was made from 10 cities. Turkey exported products worth of 39.4 billion USD in the first half of 2006, and 35.3 billion USD of this amount was exported from 10 cities.

Istanbul exported 51.3 percent, Bursa 9.3 percent, Izmir 7.3 percent, while Kocaeli, Sakarya, Ankara and Manisa exported products worth of more than 1 billion USD in this period.

Rate of export which was made from Istanbul increased 5.7 percent when compared with the first half of 2005.
