`EU-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Kazakhstan’ meeting took place in Baku 4 avril 2007

EU is ready to support politically and financially TransCaspian gas pipeline construction, in particular, is ready to act as one of its sponsors, informed yesterday the EU representatives in Baku during the ‘EU-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Kazakhstan’ meeting on a question of Caspian Sea ‘ Black Sea – European Union energy corridor creation, reports KZ-today correspondent with reference to Ministry press-service.
Azerbaijan Industry and Energy Minister Natik Aliyev, Georgia Energy Minister Nika Gilauri, RK Energy Ministry Gas Department Chair Anarbek Tulanbekov and EU representatives took part yesterday in the meeting which was held without mass-media participation.
Azerbaijan Industry and Energy Minister Natik Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan is ready to cooperate in gas transportation to Europe through Azerbaijan questions not only with Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, but also with Russia and Iran.
As noticed in the ministry, during the meeting parties have discussed also questions of Turkmeni gas transportation to Kazakhstan for its further processing, liquefied gas transportation to Europe through Azerbaijan, TransCaspian gas pipeline construction realization project and its opportunities, regional energy security, also electric and gas network reconstruction between Azerbaijan and Georgia and Azerbaijani underground gas storage power increase.
