Turkey made almost half of its imports in 2007 from Russia, Germany, China, Italy and the USA.
According to data of Turkish Board of Statistics (TUIK), Turkey’s imports were around 168.9 billion USD in 2007, and Turkey made 72.4 billion USD (42.5 percent) of it from these five countries.
Turkey’s imports from Russia were up 32 percent in 2007 over 2006, and reached 23.5 billion USD. On the other hand, Turkey imported goods worth 17.5 billion USD from Germany with a rise of 18.8 percent in 2007, and its imports from China were up 36.8 percent and climbed to 13.2 billion USD.
Turkey imported goods worth 9.9 billion USD from Italy, and made 8.1 billion USD of imports from the United States.
