Le gazoduc soutenu par la Suisse reste le dernier en lice à joindre l’Europe par le sud. En visite à Ankara début décembre pour approfondir des liens toujours plus étroits avec la Turquie, le président russe Vladimir Poutine a indiqué qu’il ne pouvait pas, « en l’état » , poursuivre la construction de South Stream.
