Ayla Gürel & Laura Le Cornu *
This paper examines Turkey’s energy relations in the Eastern Mediterranean and its impact on hydrocarbon developments. The authors look at Turkey’s energy relations with the Arab States, Israel, and the Levant Basin and examine how disputes with Cyprus and Israel are shaping Turkey’s energy policies in the region. In concluding the authors argue that the substantial revenues from hydrocarbon resources could help enable cooperation and reconciliation between Turkey, Cyprus and Israel.
